It's accepted as an absolute certainty that Inter's talented young rebel has outstayed his welcome in Milan and will be allowed to leave if a suitable offer is received.

The interested clubs are reported to be Man City, Man U, Chelsea and er.... Real Madrid! Can't see the Special One being interested in a player he consistently banished to the stands last season for various disciplinary reasons.

Man City are reckoned to have made an offer as have Man U, albeit an inferior one. I reckon Fergie is the only manager in Britain who might get the best out of Balotelli.

He did pretty well with a certain French nutter, a few years back...............

He's very good indeed (20 goals from 59 starts for Inter isn't bad for a 19 year old) with masses of pace and sublime technique.

imo he's got the potential to be world class.

He is versatile too as he can play up either wing and has a height advantage also as he is 6 foot 4 or something. He has major issues though. He blames it on racist Italians for some reason.

He gets racist abuse at almost every ground he plays at in Italy. Sadly, that includes the Giuseppe Meazza from the Interista.

Balotelli is a sublime talent but he's also a total nut job. It's a bit worrying that, as well as Mourinho leaving him out of the Inter team for breaches of club discipline, Marcello Lippi refused to take him to S. Africa when Italy were desperate for someone with his abilty.

Fergie will sort him out if he goes to Man U..............

Yes Irish, it was Mancini who brought him into the Inter first team so I'd assume he understands what makes the lad tick. In terms of physique and potential Balotelli is like a 19 year old version of Drogba, ideally suited to the English Prem.

I had forgotten about the Mancini connection, Irish.

Mcfc is licking his lips at the prospect of Balotelli in sky blue. It's being reported in Italy that City have offered Inter more money and the player a longer contract than United.

One of the advantages of not having an enormous debt to service, I suppose.................

You wouldn't bet against City making the CL in season 2011-12, PFM. Money talks, sooner or later and City have enough for it to shout. If both sets of owners stay put, I reckon City will overtake United - on the pitch - in the next 2-3 years...............

I reckon City will finish above Utd this year. Despite their claims of money being available to spend, for the second season in a row Fergie is making noises about there being "no value" in the market. I'll believe there's money to spend when they actually spend some of it.

The Italian media are claiming that Balotelli is in the bag for City now, but United are watching carefully for any last minute slip ups.

Which kind of suggests United are hoping to get him for less as they've been unwilling or unable to match City's offer......

Actually it was City to tried to hijack the Berbatov deal not United. While Balotelli is a good prospect the money being quoted could be better spent.

As for City finishing above United. Don't think so, while City have the money to obviously buy any almost player they want I don't see them breaking the top 4 just yet. Chelsea did well because they got the one manager who brought the team together. City have done well with Mancini but they won't break top 4 yet.

From what I remember it was City who had agreed a price with Spurs and Berbatov was on his way to speak to them when Fergie met him at the airport.

Balotelli's agent has announced that the move has stalled at the moment and that no contract is likely to be signed in the next few days.
