Liverpool should take the reported huge figure and run!

He is a class player when fit, but think of the players they could buy to strengthen the squad.

I think he will go as he would have committed himself to the club by now if he was going to.

£60m is silly money for Torres.

He's good, not brilliant. Smells of Chelsea trying to weaken a rival rather than bolster their own options. the squillions of goals Chelsea scored last year indicate that their weak areas aren't up top.

They'd be better off looking for a decent centre half to replace carthorse Terry...

A fully fit, on form Torres would be a class act in any team. Spain did really well to win the WC without him. Imagine if he had been fit?

Chelsea are obviously taking a wee gamble as they did with Shevchenko. I don't think it's about weakening Liverpool Bandy, as they don't appear to be genuine title contenders. They'll be doing really well to secure a top 4 finish. Chelsea have money to spend so why not bring in a proven goalscorer? They'll probably bring in a central defender in January if Terry continues his downward spiral in the new season...........

chelsea are rumoured to be after david ruiz from benfica, young brazilian chap as a replacement for carvalho who looks to be real madrid bound.
