The only one there I would regard as a 'cult hero' would be Shaggy.

Typically, a 'cult hero' is a player who is not outstanding, but the fans love him anyway.

Others I would mention would be in the Gary Thomson / Davie Moyes (Mk I) mould.

I think shaggy is the only true Pars one there.....Kenny and McManus are also on the Derry site.....Barry Nic on the Aberdeen one.

The players appear on on the clubs they have played/managed for pages.

I've definitely referred to Stephen Kenny as a Cult quite a few times.

Greg Shaw. The amount of times he fell over his own feet in the box and the ball ended in the net was hilarious.

Vetle Andersson was another, but more for his antics in Lourenzos than on the park.

However, I have to agree, Shaggy was King of the Cult Heroes.

Kenny? McManus? Bamba is debatable.

Bullen should definitely be on there. Tod as well.

Tod was a good player though.

To be a bit controversial, McCathie and Westie?

Raith, Falkirk, Airdrie and Cowdenbeath their combined historical achievements are forever in our shadow.

I would go back a wee bit further to the seventies to find my cult hero - Mick Leonard - an Irishman who both scored and missed goals for fun.

I'd agree with that, Lux. I'd also add that it's preferable - although not absolutely essential - for them to have a big association with only one club.

Quite surprised nobody has mentioned Super Johnnie Watson yet.

For me there is a difference between cult hero and legend, Norrie and Watson for me are legends because they were great players. Shaggy, French, Petrie and Tod lets face it were not the greatest players to don the black & white, but are cult heros because the fans were able to appreciate them in a way that was distinctive from other players. Equally the players were able to respond in kind with their commitment to the club and their fans.

Tam McManus and Stephen Kenny - eh??

Kozma is the best player seen at EEP for donkeys and deserves cult hero status, even if he's too good by some people's estimation.

Rougvie should be in there too for all those headers from corners.
