Looking forward to tonights game and Im hoping for a decent performance. A sneaky win might be asking a little too much but it should be good to watch anyway.

Anyone else heading along? Predictions?

...ken?

Can't make it tonight. I'll hazard a guess at 3-1 Hearts though.

id take a draw, good performance and no injuries......asking for too much lol?

dont know what to expect from Hearts, read earlier they have a few injuries but dont know what to expect from us either team wise. id keep the same side that started Saturday for the next cup game, all the subs from Saturday and those that missed out get a start or most of the action and "rest" a few of those who started on Saturday?

no Stephen Bell tonight as he has an Achilles injury according to the courier, maybe worth giving Thomson a start in his place although i'd expect Phinn to get the nod, should get a good look at Thomson either way. a good chance to try out midfields for the first couple of games when he's suspended

Cant make it either, for those who are interested you can listen to the match on Hearts website although it does cost 2 pounds to sign up to that service.Id take a draw, and hopefully a low scoring one to keep the confidence in the defence... 1-1.

Pars going with an experimental team.

Allison

Woods
McGregor

McCann

Cardle
R Thomson
Phinn
Willis

McDougal
Clarke

Only 3 first choice picks With Woods, McCann and Clarke.

Maybe change my 2-2 prediction to 1-3.

Whoever is left out on Saturday from tonight's team will be hard done by

Whoever wins the first match of the season will win the league, if it's a draw then Dundee will

good performance tonight, much much better than last saturday.

played quicker, pressed ball better, movement was good, everytime we got the ball in forward areas with clarke, mcdougal, willis and cardle we looked a big big threat.

cardle has definately given macca a tough decision for this weekend coming after his performance tonight, 2 goals well taken, tore the right back to shreds and the sub right back too! was tracking back, filling in, good to see him going ourside and inside the full back.

good performances from willis for 90mins and the 2nd half for ryan thomson after struggling in 1st 45mins.

keeper looked solid enough, didnt have any chance with the goal

an experimental back 4 of all centre backs in 2nd half did ok, higgins could of done better stopping cross coming in but he is a centre half at end of the day, in 1st half the winger for hearts was in ozzies back pocket!

usual hearts tactics as we have come to expect, hump it up the park and kick anything that moved in an opponents shirt!

Aaaarrgghh! Gutted - could have gone tonight and decided to stay in front of the telly. Sounds like the team really clicked. Well done Pars! Bring on the inbreds!

We need to get an early goal on Saturday to draw them out of defence.

If we can do that then we could end up scoring 4 or 5. I thought tonight our counter attacks were very good out numbering the Hearts defence most times.

Keeper didn't have much to do but he moved about his box well and saved the only two times he was required to - one of them a cracker.
Oh! apart from the goal - but he had absolutely no chance with it.

An excellent result and a really good performance.

A good way to wrap up a progresive pre-season.

after a bit more thought after the earlier post, team was pretty much what i expected it would be but after that things went beyond expectations. very good result and performance, a lot of positives including the "squad" guys getting a good run out.
as for feeling hard done by if they miss out on Saturday, can see that point but can also say the same about those that missed out tonight and were "rested" to get the other players involved. injuries will dictate if more changes need to be made but i dont really see more than 2 changes from the side that played on Saturday at the moment.
