Rotation- is this the way to winning the league?

Progress has been made thus far, but one (or three) swallow('s) dosn't make a summer so to speak, but that is three good games with wins and fingers crossed on Saturday it could be another.

To be honest last night was fantastic to watch and with a makeshift team when you look at who wasn't playing and who was on the bench. So if Macca can rotate the players successfully over the season and produce a bit more consistency then who knows what the season will hold for us.

After watching all the pre season and alba game, Macca may well be using the fergie rotation system this year. With such a tight budget we all know that the squad is small and if the players respond with such a rotation system in place, could well see us win the league this year.

Or am I getting carried away? maybe, but if you look at the way the younger players played last night then you feel more optomistic now with what we have in the squad than you may have done previously.

Plus if we can use the rotation it keeps the players happy and on their toes, allows us to protect players from long term injuries if they are having to play with niggles etc and more importantly no matter who we play they won't know who will be in the team so watching or playing against one team dosn't necessarily mean that will be the team playing when the other clubs play us.

On the whole I am looking forward to the 7th more and more, with the players in a confident mode and the fans on a high then bring it on.

Roll on Saturday, Come on ye parrrrsssssssss

you will get players coming in and out of the side with injuries, suspensions but i dont see a full on rotation policy happening.

Given that the Pars have had a stack of injuries in recent years to key players, the small squad will no doubt be rotated anyway through necessity, rather then choice.

Following on from your use sayings; "Needs must when the devil drives" springs to mind.

I think we'll have an enforced rotation system. Youngsters and 2nd choice players will need to play a significant number of games inresponse to injuries and niggles.

Whether the full squad is able to step up to the mark remains to be seen. I hope so.

That is why imo we may well be able to use it to our advantage, I was like many other Pars fans not sure how the season would pan out. Pre seasons are always fickle with results etc, after the first three i like many could see that things were not quite right and would take time to gell. Then after the last three it seems that the squad has learned more about each other.

So maybe the size of squad is making it easier in the training to get them all singing of the same hymn sheet so to speak.

Who knows I am only a punter and if and it will be a big ask to do it, but if we are there at the end and need a result against Falkirk at the last game of the season how full would East end be.

We live in hope and dream of glory at the end.

I don't know if rotation will be used all the time but what the last three games have shown is that the squad is working as a unit. The 3 youngsters Willis Thomson and White have shown that they are capable if needed in season ahead. I feel that Macca has to be applauded for picking these three out of the youth system so far. The boys look right up for it and maybe we will see more youngsters come through in the next few years. These 3 could pave the way for others. Maybe a tight knit squad will be a winner. Let's hope so. Delighted for the manager after the terrible start in pre season.

I agree Bigpars, last night Ryan and Paul both played with bags of confidence and this should help them gain matches when required. If you take the early games last season IE alba cup, they were so far off the pace it was crazy, difference now is there to admire. Well done to the back room staff etc for bringing these guys through.

It is about time we started to develop our own talent.

Long may it continue.

It makes a difference when the manager shows confidence in the young players. Willis has improved by getting some starts. Also it makes it easier to play youth when the team is winning. Maybe in the next round of the Alba we could use all three again. I feel that the loan spells for Thomson and White have helped those two I agree Mr P that it is about time to bring through our youth . Clarke is an example of what can happen when we release players. Let's hope we can develop these three young lads and have a youth system to be proud of.

The youngsters have shown up well and Macca has shown that he will drop players that are of form, we've seen that we are well enough covered in all areas without having to change the game plan unduely which will all stand us in good stead.

Have wings, will fly.

I still think we need cover in the full back areas. Certainly the right back slot.

in an ideal world, yes, but if Higgins doesn't leave, he gives good cover at left back and Centre half and we've shown in a couple of games (including last night) that all 4 centre halves are capable of playing as a back four. Ryan Thomson can also slot in at right back and I think even Paul Willis could play their in an emergency, he certainly got a tackle on him. the key seems to be versatility.
