I still think he got it too tight here. I thought he was fantastic when played at left back in the 2006/2007 season and since then, injuries hampered him big time.

...ken?

I was one of the few who liked Muirhead. Pity he was injury prone as he proved to be pretty decent at left back. It was just a shame fans were on his back whenever he made the smallest of mistakes. Good luck to him.

Indeed there was a whole lot worse than Muirhead. While he wasnt the greatest player at EEP his performance must have been affected by the abuse from the boo boys even when warming up! I have no beef with him.

Best of luck to Scott.
He was not given a chance by some sections of the support.
It has been said before, injuries and a lack of confidence hampered him.
I hope he has better luck elsewhere.Superally wrote:

If Muirhead had put a few crunching tackles in during matches he may have got the boo boys off his back.

Players with little or no skill need to have heart.

Unforunately Scott had neither.

He must have had something as 3 managers in a row played him and offered him contracts. Had a good spell at left back for a while, but that apart he never showed any consistancy. Lacked a bit of heart aswell IMO. But good luck to him, Australia may be his level.

Experience is just a list of your mistakes.

Yes I did but as Digs said above, 3 or 4 reasonable games over a four year spell is hardly 'showing effort and commitment'. If pulling out of every challenge, even when he was 70/30 favourite, is showing commitment then your standards must be very low.

as Lambo says the managers must have seen something in him, Leishman in signing him for 2 1/2 years, Kenny converting him into a left back and then McIntyre for renewing his contract for another 2 years.

Hes gone, hes off trying a new country, good luck to him i say.

Some of the treatment he gets on here and at EEP was sickening.
He was a Pars player, why abuse your own player?

I do agree about some of the comments but please explain if that merited people booing at him while warming up etc?

His play in the latter part of season 2006/07 a lot to do with having O'Brien playing at no 11.

He did a lot of covering back and helped SM look better than he actually was.

O'Brien playing at no 11.........one problem with that, they played on the left hand side maybe once in that time O'Brien was here, the rest he was on the right wing.

few things i agree with above but again the managers obviously saw something in him to keep him as long as they did, their choice to do so but thats in the past now, good luck to him down under.

He had a couple of good games up against Sproule when we played Hibs and he was at left back and then again towards the end of the relegation season in the league games.

Calderwood inherited two left sided players who weren't good enough when he went to Aberdeen and we ended up with both of them !

It is left side syndrome. Us Pars fans can't stand left sided players.

McGroaty, Fleming, Heddle, Millar, Muirhead, Butler, Morrison, Kilgannon etc

It is inevitable that Cardle will be the centre of our ire in future years!

Prediction: Games 1-10 In the hunt. Games 10 -20 Strikers hit a dry spell and we start to lose/draw games. Games 20-30 Small squad reduces further due to injury and suspension. Battle for mediocrity begins on New Years day. We finish 4th (53 points)

Despite everything mentioned above that is still a hell of a drop in standard at a young age, unless he has career options or family stuff away from football then fair play to him.

Yeah he is way too good for that level. Maybe break into A league if he impresses. Second tier football here is quite a drop from not so long ago SPL. However he maybe just gaining experience while in Perth. Plus being here sure beats windy rainy Fife hands down. The way he was treated by some of the moron fans when playing for the Pars is disgusting.

My season ticket was behind certain .net posters and their middle aged cronies. They dished out their own brand of 'banter and humour' to several players in my experience. But oh did they laugh. All sniggering and snide, patting themselves on the back for being such luminary wits. Sad little cliquey f*****s. Nothing personal, just unfortunate to have to suffer this for a few seasons. Maybe just drink bloating their overworked egos. . Who knows...

No wonder that players get scunnered playing for the Pars.

Scott is a personal friend of mine and he'll be the first to admit that he's not had the best of times with the pars. On the pitch he maybe wasn't the best, but trust me when i say that he was determined to get over a back problem (which he has had for a long long time) and prove his worth. It is due to this back issue that all the other injuries occurred. I agree that he wasn't exactly a star, but to give the boy personal abuse is just disgusting. Scott is a decent guy and a good friend to those who take the time to actually speak to him without the snide comments about his football ability. As football and pars fans you are well within your rights to criticise his on the pitch antics during games and at the pub afterwards, but you have no right to attack his character or be aggressive towards his when he is trying to spend time with friends and his fiancee (this is aimed at a very small percentage of you, but this abuse HAS happened). Thanks to those of you showing scott support, at least it shows him that some people are not complete idiots

If he had back problems for a long, long time, begs the question why he was re-signed then ? Hid it from management ?? Maybe not, but if I was a manager and was aware of this I would not of resigned him as it cleary affected his appearances and performances.

The record above speaks for itself.

Nothing against him personally - unless he did pull the wool of course - which would mean all the abuse was justified.

If he gets over his problem he will resurrect his career ! ???

If he disappears into oblivion and starts selling double glazing- then the abuse was again - I am sorry - justified.

No need to shout Angus.

He could have done the gentlemanly thing ie : a Roddy McKenzie, if he knew he had ongoing injury problems that were causing him to miss so many games and only give 50% when picked .

Naw, just kept taking a sizeable wage with no real intention/ability of ever really earning it whilst in a Pars jersey.

Heads Scott wins

Tails Pars lose.

Hope he stays fit and stars in the pub team down under.

A bit off topic from slaughtering the guy, but does anybody know what sort of standard he's playing at now?

I checked the club's website and their pitch set up etc didn't look too far removed from what we'd expect from a junior club across here.

Is he likely to be full time?

That picture of him in this thread was seemingly him skelping in a peach of a free-kick according to his new club's site.

junior or 3rd division standard at best from what ive seen on youtube clips of a few of their games. recognise a couple of other players they have (Gavin and Robinson) but looking at the standard would be surprised if they were full time.

Dont have to have played football and " been some player " to post comments.

Aberdeen may have a squad of duds - neither here nor there.

I have never abused Scott on here.

Had one post removed when I accused him of "stealing money"

As I said above if he had done a Roddy McKenzie instead of bleeding every penny from the club when he had an ongoing injury problem - according to his mate - then he might have got some respect. Club has to take some of the blame for that also - if it is/was the case.

Whatever way you look at it the stats - that I did not post originally - they do not make good reading.

And as I also said in an earlier post - I hope he stays fit and stars for his new team.

OK Clockwork Orange. I think you've made your point with as much reason and justification as you can muster.

How many players, across the globe, have persistent injury problems. I seems to me that there are lots of them and that there is, with the medical expertise available, a fine line between a career ending/limiting injury and one from which a recovery can be made. To suggest an individual deliberately carried on taking money in full knowledge he couldn't contribute properly is quite invidious on your part.

What I think, is that you didn't like him as a player. You allowed that to cloud your judgement of him as a person. And that your arguement is just a poorly judged, thinly veiled attempt to justify these sentiments to yourself.

I agree 100% with everything BP and Kendo say- not with Beverino - obviously.

I find it quite ironic that the current number of posts on this subject have now reached the heady heights of 58 - which is about the same number of minutes the injury stricken SM contributed meaningfully in his Pars career.

Look forward to seeing 11 Pars players getting stuck in from the first whistle tomorrow ! Win or lose.
