Where's the best pub to go for a sesh before the game?

Bring on the Falkirk!

To be honest, I wouldn't bother.

Arguably the best pub in the town is Behind the Wall, but it'll be heaving with Falkirk fans. I was in there before a Pars game at Brockville once, and I'm sure there were others, and the atmosphere was tense. It's a 15 minute walk out to the stadium.

That apart, slim pickings, nothing near their ground. There's a Wetherspoons in the town centre, while the Tolbooth and the Wheatsheaf are good pubs.

As I say, I wouldn't bother going into Falkirk for a pint, but then I have to live there!

I wouldn't bother to be honest. But there is a new sportsters open in the middle of town which is probably the biggest pub in Falkirk now.

About 20 minute walk from the stadium.

Dont go into BTW, there is a pre-arranged event in there for Falkirk Fans starting at 12 and includes free buses to the game, Sammy McGivern also attending and they are showing the super tuesday game so the place will be heaving.

As has been posted dont go into the Mill Inn, there are rumours about pre-arranged trouble before the game and if this is true that is where the Falkirk eejits will be holed up as it used to be run by the Mrs of one of them and they all still frequent there.

Sportsters and wetherspoons should be okay and the pubs in Grangemouth would be alright.

To be honest there are no pubs that near the ground. Aberdeen fans always used to book the Oxgang in Grangemouth and go there for food and drink early doors but then they were travelling a distance.

the mill got done in a few years ago when the CSF (Hearts) went visiting a few season ago, and it used to be the place their hooligan element hung out.

all this talk of pre-arranged trouble is rubbish just like all the talk before the rovers games at EEP last season and there was none.

They used to open the Zeneca Social Club at the top of Earls Road Grangemouth on match days to away fans, would be worth a call to see if they still do that or even if it still exists!

Renegade Master

The Zeneca Club shut down about a year ago when the company stopped subsidising it.

Pars1562

There has never been any bother involving Hearts at The Mill. There was trouble outside it about 3 years ago with Hibs.

To be honest with you the Falkirk so called casual element havent been seen for years, the last trouble I can think of was our first season back in the SPL when there was a battle at the Ice Rink with Dundee before a pre-season friendly and at Xmas time there was trouble in Dundee before a Utd game in the City centre. Our games have been trouble free thankfully for years. In my opinion if you want to go to football to cause trouble then you are an @rsehole.

The majority of the these guys couldnt fight sleep they talk a good game and that is about it. If you are hell bent on fighting with someone how come these fights are normally arranged for City/Town centres where there is loads of CCTV and they know they will be monitored by Police. If they really want to fight each other they should f*** off to somewhere where they know they wont be disturbed and they can kick the crap out of each other.

I am all for a bit of banter at football and on the 7th I will be giving it big licks with the rest of the Falkirk support as I am no doubt you guys will as well. After the game though that is it, I have mates at work who are Pars fans and there will be stick but it will be good natured as it has always been.

Aye, nicely put.

I too will no doubt be screamin' and bawlin' for 90 minutes, but at Full Time that's it, no hard feelings. I can't believe grown men still find it necessary to fight with each other for f*ck all

Aye, I would rather sit and have a few pints before and after a game instead of scouting for a sair puss.

yep your most probably right if you say it was Hibs as I remember hearing a story a few seasons ago about the pub involving an Edinburgh team, for some reason it was Hearts that rang a bell why I don't know.

just go to the Dutch inn on the way to Grangemouth a few beers and a five minute drive to the ground.

Livingston Par

Defo a Bairns fan, the majority of both supports will be sound guys but both will have their tadger elements as does any club.

I was at the Skids in March at the Alhambra wi my mate from work who is from Dunfermline and had a great night, met loads of Pars fans and my pal took great pleasure in telling them I was a Falkirk fan. The banter was great and the lads i met were absolute sound.

Thats what seperates most clubs in Scotland from the OF, there is banter and hatred to a certain extent but it is never anywhere like the levels of both of these vile b**tards.

Enjoy the game next week and may the best team win as long as they are wearing navy Blue :O)

Try the Auld Toll Tavern in Grangemouth's Old Town, just after you go over the River Carron at the motorway junction, 1st left.
